Classical and Electric Harpist
Tsvetelina Likova is a UK-based harpist whose main focus of her performances and compositions is on creativity. Originally from Bulgaria, she has performed internationally including the United Arab Emirates and European countries such as Bulgaria, France, Italy, Cyprus, Spain, United Kingdom, and others. Tsvetelina specialises in performing arts and has been awarded a First Class Bachelor of Music with Honours degree in Performance (Harp) from the prestigious Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (www.bcu.ac.uk).
With a wide range of genres included in her repertoire, such as Classical, Romantic, Contemporary, Blues, Jazz, Film, Folk, and Traditional music, she enjoys bringing a unique light to each of her performances. Both as an acoustic and electric harpist, composer and arranger, Tsvetelina’s musical ambitions are widely spread. Her travels with the harp and her performance experience have shaped a broad-minded musician.
Always seeking to broaden her horizons and experiment with new music, Tsvetelina just released her debut album 'Tales by Light' of original music, influenced by the different cultures she has encountered during her travels. She believes that her purpose in life is to spread the magic of music, to create the unwritten and to search for the unexpected. She truly enjoys exploring and discovering different cultures; her true passions are music, creativity, and travelling.
Tsvetelina is a fully qualified teacher with the GTC Scotland and completed her Master's degree in Transformative Learning and Teaching at the University of Edinburgh. She is very passionate about sharing her passion for music and the harp with children and adults who want to learn the harp!

TEACHING
Tsvetelina is really passionate to share her love of music and the harp with as many music lovers as possible. Tsvetelina is teaching the harp, piano and music theory privately to people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds in and around Edinburgh. She is fully DBS checked and a holder of a PVG Scheme Record. She is enthusiastic to make her lessons enjoyable and incorporate the student's needs, whether they are to increase their musical knowledge by teaching music theory, aural, sight-reading and/or preparing them for Music Grades Exams by Trinity College London, ABRSM syllabuses, or SQA performance examinations.
Throughout the years of teaching experience she has built her own educational strategies and philosophy:
'I strongly believe that the students have to enjoy themselves in what they're doing. Therefore, I am always carefully selecting the teaching methods according to the individual's needs and desires. I am using a series of proven approaches of stimulation for a dedication to practice and perform. Moreover, I aim to encourage them to do their best all the way to reaching the set goal! It is really important for me to encourage them, that with the required effort and work anything is possible. Therefore, I always search for the correct attitude in the problem-solving process.'

'Tsvetelina is an excellent teacher who has extended Iona’s knowledge of the Pedal Harp both technically and in performance. She has encouraged Iona to learn her pieces so she can play without music thus bringing her performance to a new level of confidence.
Tsvetelina's depth of knowledge keeps the lessons lively and interesting whilst at the same time challenging for more advanced students. Iona and I believe she is a wonderful caring teacher who works hard to improve her students abilities. Highly recommended.' Sophia Munro, parent
